On Monday in Estuary Education, we explored different plants. We learnt that one of trees was actually a sweet chestnut and we explored the differences between that and the horse chestnut. We met little creatures that lived in our estuary. We talked about the river and that the mouth of a river is the place where the river finishes its journey and flows into a bigger body of water, like the sea or a lake. An estuary is a wide mouth of a river.
We then used natural resources to represent Dienes / Base 10. We used acorns, sticks and sweet horse chestnuts to practise adding and exchanging. We also looked at texture in Expressive Arts and explored these patterns in dofferent places in the estuary. We are so lucky where we live!
This week in Year 3, we learnt how to use visual code in Scratch. We learnt about algorithms and how to programme a simple set of instructions for our sprites.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
