Year 1 and 2
What did we do?
Year 1 and 2 discussed different types of charities. We discussed "Loughor in-shore Lifeboats" and the work that they do in our community and further afield. Some children discussed their links with the charity chosen.
We then discussed ways that we could raise money for them and ideas for doing so were recorded for us all to see. We had so many amazing ideas and children were very happy and eager to be giving back in some way to help others.
Children then had an opportunity to vote and the chosen idea was selected : How many goals could be scored in 1 minute?
We took a timer outside and we all took turns to see how many we could score in 1 minute. We kept a record of the data and later followed up by looking at it in maths. We were able to interpret the data we recorded from the tally marks given.
Lots of fun was had and we were sponsored by our very generous families to help us to complete our chosen challenge. Diolch pawb!
