Pupil Voice leading Internet Safety Day
Today some members of our Year 6 class helped to lead an Internet Safety Assembly to the whole school. They worked hard to deliver key messages about Artificial Intelligence and how to try to protect ourselves online but not sharing our information. The impact today was that most of our pupils were informed about the positive and negative impact of Artificial Intelligence, and understood where AI may be used. we talked about how we all need to be aware checking reliability and to always ask our trusted adults if something upsets or worries us.
The theme today (10th February 2026) was 'Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI'

Spring Term 2026: Charity Champions
This term, our pupil voice focus is ‘Charity Champions’. The children have been working in their groups to decide how best they may raise money for our local charity: Loughor in-shore lifeboats. See below for what the pupils in each class have decided they wish to do. We understand that it can be expensive for those children who have siblings, but please do not feel obligated to contribute to more than one fundraiser for such an important local charity.
Nursery
Our youngest pupils will run 3-5 laps of our school yard on Wednesday 4th February. Please can pupils
come into school in appropriate sports clothes and trainers.
Reception / Y1
Pupils will run 3-5 laps of the Daily Mile on our back field. We are aiming to do this on Wednesday
4th February in our Outdoor Learning session. Please can pupils come into school in appropriate sports clothes and
trainers.
Year 1/2
Pupils will score goals against our goal keeper on our back field. We are aiming to do this on Wednesday
4th February in our Outdoor Learning session. Please can pupils come into school in appropriate sports clothes and
trainers.
Year 3
From their own ideas, Year 3 have voted to hold a ‘Charity Champions’ talent show for anyone who wishes
to take part within our school. There will be a PS1/2 (Bridge Phase) show (Years Rec-Year 3) before break, and a PS3 (Estuary Phase) show after break (Y4,5 &6). This will be on Thursday 5th February. They will be going around the classes with entry slips and those taking part are asked to bring in £1.00 to perform. There will be a prize for the winner of the shows.
Year 4
Pupil voice has decided that they will take part in a 1hr “Fitness Class” from Fit By Hel. They will have a
timed session and are looking for sponsorship to complete the session. Please can pupils wear PE kits and
appropriate footwear for Wednesday 4th February.
Year 5
On Wednesday 4th February, Year 5 have chosen to complete a sponsored ’energy using’ and ‘energy
saving’ day. They will be using energy by completing a sports circuit and saving energy by taking part in an ‘energy
free’ day – no electric or electrical devices used! Pupils may wear PE kit on this day. Sponsor forms will be given
out on Monday 2nd February and are to be returned to school by Wednesday 4th February.
Year 6
Children will undertake a sponsored fun challenge on Wednesday 4th February. They will be working in
pairs and taking turns telling their best (and silliest!) jokes. The challenge is simple… try not to laugh! If they can
keep a straight face while their partner tries to make them giggle, they earn their sponsorship.
Please could Sponsorship forms and any money collected be returned to school by Monday 9th February so that
we can collate and get a total before a representative of Loughor Lifeboat attends a special assembly on
Wednesday of that week. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
Guess what impact we had? How much did we collectively raise for our local charity?
We raised an AMAZING £1,805 for the Loughor Lifeboat In-shore Rescue. We are so very proud that we have had such an impact and can contribute to a charity that tries really hard to keep us safe where we live!

Today, the first group of pupils met with Senior Leadership to discuss our new School Development Plan and the journey our school is on. The pupils worked together to put our school development headline priorities in their own words and make it easy for all to understand.
Our ' Casllwchwr' targets always fall under our 3Rs:
Ready to learn
Rich experiences
Responsibility for progress
